In reading this week we will read a story called Tops and Bottoms. We will focus on the skills of monitoring our comprehension, recognizing homophones, sequence of events, and noun suffixes. We will also take time to further investigate our inquiry questions. Throughout the week in writing we will continue working on our research reports and hopefully finish our rough drafts and begin final drafts.
In math last week we had so many kiddos gone that we did not get to learning to multiply by 8's and 9's, so we will do that this week. I have some fun tricks and patterns to teach with 9's that I think the kids will love! We will also work on multiplication problem solving and end the week with our chapter 4 test. By the end of the week the kids will have learned strategies to solve multiplication facts with factors 0-10, this would be a great time to start practicing with flash cards at home!!
In social studies we will continue to learn about the Montana Indian reservations. In science this week the kids will get to build their gliders and we will begin our test flights.
