In math we will start with reviewing rounding to the nearest 10 and 100 and then jump into addition properties such as the commutative, associative, and identity properties. I have attached a link to a learnzillion video that we will be watching in class on rounding to the nearest 10. This would be a good thing to watch if you are interested or want to see how it is being taught in class!!
This week we will start our first homework!! Homework for this week includes: a math review page, September poem, and a reading log. For the September poem the kids should come up with a sentence that starts with each letter of September and it should include things that remind the kids of September (we did a practice one in class so hopefully they will be on the right track). The reading log is a way for me to see that they are reading at least 15 minutes every night. I cannot stress to you how important this is! To start their reading log will just be a sign off for reading each night, but as the year goes on they will need to write me a short summary of what they read that week. All homework is due back on Friday.
If you have not yet signed up for Remind101 please do so, it makes it really easy for me to send reminders! Thanks so much and I'm looking forward to a great week!!
