Field day last week was a lot of fun! Check out pictures under the "Photos" tab.
This week we will be finishing up our inquiry projects and presenting them. We will also spend time reading and finishing our novel studies.
This week we will also be learning about sportsmanship and what it means to be a team player. All week long we will read stories and watch videos about sportsmanship and then have the chance to apply what we learn to a school wide wiffle ball tournament. We will have two games during the week, one on Tuesday and one on Thursday, so please remember gym shoes on those days. Then the kids will have a chance to vote on who they think showed the best sportsmanship on and off the field. That kiddo will get to play in a teacher's vs. students game on Friday morning. This should be really fun and a great way to apply everything we have learned about character throughout the year!
We will clean out desks on Thursday and bring everything home, but please still send your kiddo with a backpack on Friday as we give out yearbooks and report cards.
Friday is an early dismissal at 11:45, lunch will not be served so your kiddo can bring a larger snack.
Thank you all for such a wonderful year! I have loved getting to know your kiddos and all of you. Each year it is hard to say goodbye as these kids become such a huge part of my life and a part of my heart. I refer to them as my kids for 8 months and they will always be my kids :) I hope they come back and visit, as I love to see how they grown and change and the people they become! I found this poem and it really says it well.
A Teacher’s Farewell
You’re a very special person
And there’s something you should know
How I loved to be your teacher,
How fast the year did go!
Please come back to visit me
As through the grades you grow,
Try hard to learn all that you can,
There is so much to know!
The one thing I tried to teach you
To last your whole life through,
Is to know that you are special
Just because you are you!!
Thank you for sharing your children with me! They are all very special and I have loved being their teacher!
