We have finished our Lead21 series so this week we are staring a novel study in reading. Each group will have a different chapter book that we will be reading and discussing. This week we will be focusing on the skills of asking and answering questions from both fiction and non-fiction texts. We will also work on identifying the main idea and supporting details and using text features to help us understand a text. In writing we will finish our folktales and fables, we will also work on homonyms and using capital letters!
In math we will finish up our chapter on geometry by relating shapes to fractions, we will also take our chapter 12 test. We will end the week working again with measurement and measuring items to the nearest half and quarter inch.
In social studies we will learn about how we can have a voice in our community. In science we will learn about the first stage in an animals life cycle. We will also be using some time to work on our unit 8 inquiry projects.
