This week we are doing our Smarter Balance testing. We will be testing each morning, Monday-Thursday from 8:30-10:30. We have Friday as a catch-up day if we still need to finish testing. Please make sure your kiddo is there during those times. Also please make sure they have a good breakfast and try to get a good night sleep the night before.
Since we have testing we will kind of be taking it easy the rest of the day each day to give their brains a little break.
In math this week we are revisiting fractions and working on comparing and ordering them. We will also work again on area and perimeter. Our reading time will be taken by testing each day, but they kids will have time to read from their novel studies and work on summarizing. In writing we will work on finishing up our folktales and have Author's Chair.
In social studies this week we will learn about how we can have a voice in our community. The kids will learn about public meetings and how the community can debate and vote. In science we are learning about the life cycle of mealworms and butterflies.
We get a special visit this week from author Andrea Choppick on Tuesday. She will read to the kids and talk to them about being an author.
Homework: No homework or spelling this week due to testing. Please still read every night though!
