This week is parent teacher conferences so we will have a noon dismissal on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Monday I will be sending home a conference questionnaire for you to fill out, mainly is it just an area for you to write down any questions or concerns you have and that way I can hopefully have answers for you at your conference. Please send it back in with your kiddo on Tuesday so that I can find answers for you if need be (it is only 4 quick questions). Report cards will go home in Tuesday folders, unless you have a Tuesday conference, then your report card will come home on Monday.
Since we have noon dismissal Wednesday-Friday this week lunch will not be served and your kiddo can bring a larger snack. Also we will have Music on Monday and P.E. on Tuesday, so please have your gym shoes those days.
In reading this week we are looking back at our two stories from this unit and reviewing the skills of summarizing, predicting, analyzing idioms, using similes, using antonyms, and identifying text structure. In writing we are still finishing final drafts of Drippy and we will have author's chair this week. We are also finishing up final drafts of our Halloween How To.
In math this week we are continuing multiplication with learning about the commutative property, building arrays, and multiplying by 1 and 0. We will also review for the chapter 3 test this week and start the test on Friday. The kids are doing a great job picking up on these initial steps of multiplication!!
Last week we started learning about arrays and we learned that they are all around us. Part of the kids' homework this week will be to find 3-5 everyday arrays around the house or anywhere they see them. Then I would love if they could take a picture and print it out, or you can email them to me for them to show the class on Friday. They will also need to write down the multiplication sentence that goes with the array. I will send a description home in Tuesday folders too.
Homework: Everyday arrays, November poem, reading log
On Saturday I got to watch Teagen play football and he played awesome! Good job Teagen!
Code Word: Conferences!!!
