We finished our unit 2 inquiry projects last week, but did not quite have time to do all the presentations. The videos for the three groups that presented will be up under the student work tab and we will present the rest on Monday.
In reading this week we will continue reading Living on the Land and learn about how geography shapes different communities. We will focus on the skills of asking and answering questions, paraphrasing, using context clues, and noun suffixes.
In writing we are working on our reports. Last week the kids began researching either a natural disaster such as a hurricane or tornado, or famous geographical places like the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone National Park. They did a great job of researching last week and were very excited and engaged as they found information. This week we will start organizing their information and start our rough drafts.
In math we will be learning to multiply by 7, we will also learn about the distributive property or break apart property, and the associative property or grouping property. We will also introduce the kids to a multiplication table and teach them how to use it. We have almost learned how to multiply by all the factors now, so it would be a great time to start practicing multiplication facts at home!
In social studies we are still learning about the Montana Indian Reservations and Tribes and in science we are going to start designing our gliders.
