I hope that everyone has/had a great long weekend. I look forward to learning some new things at MEA that I can hopefully bring back to the classroom!
Thank you so much to everyone who donated to the basket. We ended up with a really good amount of items and I think it will be a really successful basket. Thanks also to Holly Wallace for putting it together for us. The basket will be displayed all week up by the office and then silent auction bidding will end on Friday the 26th during Family Fun Night.
This week in math we will be learning about multiplying by 1 and 0, we will also take our chapter 3 test. Throughout the rest of the week we will begin learning strategies for the different factors. We will learn to multiply by 2, 4, 5, and 10.
In reading this week we are looking into the essential question: Why do people immigrate to new places? We will focus on the skills of making predictions, theme, and similes. In writing we are finishing up our personal narratives and sharing them in author's chair.
Friday, October 26th is our Halloween Family Fun Night. This is your chance to wear costumes as we don't wear our costumes to school on Halloween. I'll be there and I'd love to see you all dressed up! Please try and find me if you come! There will be fun games, a cookie walk, the silent auction, and food trucks! I hope to see you there!
Wednesday the 24th is picture retake day, or picture day for anyone who was gone on picture day.
Parent/teacher conference times will be coming home in Tuesday folders, please let me know if the time I gave you doesn't work and we can look at a different time!
