It was so great to meet with all of you last week during conferences!! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful children with me, this truly is a very special group of kiddos and I am loving being their teacher!

At conferences I spoke with many of you about a site that you could look up the lexile, or reading level, of a book. The site is called lexile.com, I've linked it here for you.  This is a great way to check and see if the books your kiddos are reading are at a good reading level for them!

In reading this week we are looking into the essential question: How do people make government work? We will be focusing on the skills of rereading, author's point of view, and prefixes. In grammar we will be working on irregular plural nouns. In writing we will continue working on our informative How To pieces.

In math this week we will learn about multiplying with 9's.  There are a couple really fun tricks that I am excited to teach the kids!  We will also work on problem solving with multiplication.  Mid-week we will take our chapter 4 math test and then begin chapter 5, where we are looking at solving for the missing number.

In social studies we are finishing up our Montana brochures and in science we are finally back to PLTW since our glider parts came in!

This Thursday evening Arrowhead is having a Tech Night.  If you are curious about some of the technology your kiddos are using please come and check it out! I will be presenting about ST Math as well as a little bit about Front Row. There will be 4 different 15 minute sessions, so feel free to check out a couple while you're here!

Upcoming Events:
November:
8th       Spirit Day - Wear red, white, and blue; Bring a $1 donation to the Warriors and Quiet Waters program in Bozeman.
10th   8:45am Veteran's Day Program for parents and veterans performed by 4th and 5th grade general music students.

    All About Me

This school year will mark my seventh year of teaching and I must say I am so blessed to be a part of such a great community at Arrowhead school. I am excited to begin a new year with a wonderful group of kids!! I grew up in Helena and attended college in Bozeman, MT at MSU. Go Bobcats!  While there I obtained a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Reading.  In 2016 I received a masters degree in Education Leadership. Six years ago I married my high school sweetheart, Tymon. We also have a five year old adorable mini australian shepherd puppy, Molly. This year we are also welcoming our first child in February and we are so excited to be parents! When I am not teaching I love to be outside enjoying hiking trails or taking in a sporting event.
