Remember there is no school on Monday, so enjoy your day off!
This week in reading we will be learning about the hottest, coldest, highest, and deepest places on earth. We will be looking into how plants and animals can survive in those places. We will be focusing on the skills of visualizing, classifying words, identifying the main idea and supporting details, and compound words.
In writing this week we will be spending our work time researching and writing a compare and contrast paragraph about two animals from two different extreme environments. These are the same two animals that the kids are using for their inquiry projects.
In math this week we will be learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We will be looking at polygons, quadrilaterals, and triangles. We will be talking about the qualifications for each and also be learning about lines and line segments. We will throughout the week be circling back to a few 3rd quarter math concepts for reassessment.
In science this week we will be using our construction kits to build a lever. We will also have the chance to walk through the science fair on Thursday and view all the science fair projects that the 4th graders have worked so hard on.
Last week on kid blog the kids had to write a 2 step story problem, you could hop on and see if you can solve their story problem if you would like.
I forgot to mention a few of our March birthdays. We wished Jaida a happy birthday at the beginning of the month, and David a happy birthday last week. Ryan R. is celebrating his birthday today (Sunday), so happy birthday Ryan!!
