We had a busy week of testing and the kids did such a great job with their first NWEA tests! We just have a couple kiddos that need to finish up next week.

In math this week we will be finishing up chapter 1 by learning about the break apart strategy, some mental math strategies for subtraction, and practicing addition and subtraction with place value. We will end the week with our chapter 1 test.
In science this week we will continue our activity on balanced and unbalanced forces and then learn about the forces of flight. In social studies we are taking a day of remembrance for 9/11. We will be reading The Man Who Walked Between the Towers by Mordicai Gerstein as a way of remember the towers before they fell. We will then spend some time discussing heroes and some of the heroes of 9/11.
On Friday afternoon our class will be taking place in a scavenger hunt at Mission Ridge from 12:40-2:00. I am not sure exactly what this will entail yet, but we were invited to participate and it should be fun!
