In reading this week we will be exploring the essential question: What can traditions teach you about cultures? We will focus on the skills of visualizing, sequencing, and using context clues. In grammar this week we will work on different type of sentences; command, question, exclamation, and statement. In writing we are working on writing a friendly letter. I told the kiddos that we can send these letters if you have the address, so they may be asking you for an address of a family member or friend.
In math this week we will be working on addition and subtraction. We will start with practicing using place value to add, then we will work on estimating differences and using place value to subtract.
All week long in our character counts meetings we will be working on perseverance. We will read some stories and do activities that help us understand and build our perseverance. On Friday morning we will do a group activity that I would love a few adult volunteers for. I could use about 4 or 5 volunteers from about 8:45-9:30. Please let me know if you would be interested. Thanks!
