I will not be here on Monday, Tymon is having surgery on his wrist so I will be up at the hospital with him. I do apologize for the number of days I have been gone this month, I don't like being away. Unfortunately we just had unexpected things come up, such is life. Anna Hanna will be the guest teacher again.
Tuesday is our field trip to the airport. We will leave the school about 9:15 and return about 11:00. At the airport we will be at the Rocky Mountain College hanger and the kids will get to see planes up close and hear from a pilot. It should be a very fun learning experience!
In reading this week we will be reading a story called The Hunter and building our list of hero qualities. We will also be working on the skills of making predictions, using descriptive language, and recalling and retelling a story. All week we will be working on researching our hero. If your kiddo would like to do more research at home with you they are more than welcome to! Next week I will send home a letter all about the Wax Museum project requirements as well as the date of the event (we are getting that figured out today).
In math on Friday we started fractions! This week we will continue by learning about unit fractions, numerators and denominators, fractions of a whole, and fractions on a number line. Last week we finished our 6 week multiplication memorization, but please still practice multiplication at home, our fluency can easily decrease without continuous practice.
In science this week the kids will work on finishing their inclined plane and building a lever.
Homework: division story problems, reading log
