In math this week we are focusing on division strategies and practicing division. We will still be working on memorizing our six multiplication facts. The facts this week are: 6x7=42, 4x9=36, 9x8=72, 3x8=24, 6x2=12, 6x5=30. Also, keep practicing the facts from the last couple weeks!!
In reading this week we are focusing on the question: What ideas can we get from nature? We will focus on the skills of summarizing, main idea and key details, and root words. There will be no spelling test this week.
On Wednesday we will walk up to St. John's to perform our Christmas program for them. We will leave the school about 9:40 to walk up there. We perform first so then we will just walk back down when we are done. We should be back to the school around 10:20.
We have been reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a read aloud the past couple months. So on Friday as a treat for the kids we are watching the old movie, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. We will be comparing the book and the movie to see similarities and differences. The movie is rated G. We will also have a hot chocolate bar and treat while we watch. Thanks Holly Wallace for organizing and thank you to all who offered to bring something!
Friday is the last day before Christmas Break. We have no school from December 24th to January 1st.
We get to celebrate Fifi's birthday and Rowan's birthday this week.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful break!!
