There is no school on Monday. We will get the chance to wish Grayson a Happy Birthday on Tuesday!!
On Wednesday we are headed up to Mission Ridge to perform "It's a Hit" for them. Please have your kiddo wear or bring their clothes for the performance. They can wear jeans or baseball pants, a jersey or a plain shirt, and a baseball cap. We will be walking up there around 1:00 and will perform at 1:15. We will be back in time for regular dismissal.
In reading this week our essential question is: How do teams work together? We will focus on the skills of asking and answering questions, author's point of view, expository text, and using sentence clues. Please make sure your kiddo is reading at least 15-20 minutes every night at home!!
Last week we finished up area and perimeter and I was very happy with how the kids did on the test! We'll continue working on it throughout the end of the year, but we are moving on to geometry. This week we will work on learning about shapes and lines, identifying different angles and identifying different shapes.
We will continue to work on our animal rescue device in science.
Please mark your calendars for the Wax Museum, Friday May 12th from 8:30-9:30! The kids have been working hard on research and writing their reports. Last week many of them started on a timeline of their person's life and began typing their final draft. This week we will work on their speeches and finish up their reports. Please begin thinking of their costumes and remember we do not want this to be a big expense. Use what you have around the house! If there is something your kiddo needs we can also ask others in class and see if we can share some things! Here are a couple examples from previous years to give you an idea.
