I just wanted to let you know that the reason I was gone last week was for a little surgery. I am doing well and recovering very well. I'm really just letting you know because I am still moving a bit slower than normal. I will also just have to ask the kids to go for high-fives instead of hugs for this week. :)
April 10th is the science fair. If anyone participated please bring in your project in the morning before school so we can get it set up in the gym.
In reading this week we will focus on the essential question: What are different kinds of energy? We will focus on the skills of asking and answering questions, cause and effect, and homophones (words that sound the same but have different meanings). In writing this week we will be starting opinion essays.
In math this week we will review everything from chapter 10: time to the minute, elapsed time, time intervals, measurement, liquid volume, and mass. We will take our test on Wednesday. Then we will spend the rest of the week learning about perimeter.
At this point almost everyone is working on their speech for wax museum. We can't wait to show you all the hard work at the Wax Museum next week!
Friday is Pastries with Parents. Come on in to the school and have a breakfast pastry (donut) with your kiddo! It starts at 7:00 a.m. and goes until school starts at 8:15 a.m. If the gym overflows you are welcome to eat in the classrooms.
