Since we have testing we will again be taking it easy the rest of the day, to give our brains a little break. We will be working on our inquiry projects. This unit the kids had to research either an invention or inventor and they will be creating their own weebly website as their presentation tool! We started the websites on Thursday, just choosing their design and adding pages. For the last part of their inquiry project the kids had to come up with an invention that they think would make life easier. They had to follow the invention problem solving steps: find a problem, brainstorm for solutions, and describe how they would try out their invention.
We will also be spending time on our personal narratives. The kids are writing about a place that they love. We talked about really describing the place so readers could visualize it. Of the pieces I have read so far the kids are doing a beautiful job!
We will also be working on our PLTW animal rescue devices. The kids have to build a compound machine with a magnet to lift the tiger out of a moat (all part of the fictional story that introduced this unit).
This week is also teacher appreciation week and healthy habits week. On Thursday there will be a bike/walk event at 1:30. The kids can only bike if they have proper gear (helmet, tennis shoes). For everyone who doesn't bike we will go on a walking scavenger hunt outside on school grounds.
No homework or spelling test again this week due to testing.

I was lucky enough to see multiple games this weekend! It is always so fun to see the kids playing a sport they love! On Thursday night I got to see Sari, Amelia, and Aubrey play softball. Then on Saturday I had a soccer filled day. I stared the morning with Addy, Jaida, and Alison's game, then went to Kendal's, and ended the day with Ryan's game! So fun!
