Our schedule this week will be a little different. There is no school on Monday, then we have NWEA testing Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30-10. Please make every effort to have your child at school during those times so that we don't have to worry about make-up testing. I let the kids chew gum during testing, a few kids have brought in their own gum that they like, which everyone is welcome to do. I will provide gum for everyone as well. The NWEA test are very important. These are the same tests we took in the fall and we really hope to see growth this spring. We also look to scores on these tests for extended studies.
In math we are continuing to study fractions. This week we are looking at comparing and ordering fractions. Here is a video about comparing fractions with the same numerator, but different denominators.
The only homework this week is the reading log. Also please make sure your kiddo is still practicing their multiplication facts every night at home. I truly cannot stress the importance of this enough. We use it daily and fluency with the facts can easily go down without practice.
Third quarter ends on Friday and report cards will go home on April 1st.
