In writing this week we are working on our descriptive essays. The kids are doing a good job writing with their senses and I am challenging some to include similes in their writing.
In math this week we are starting fractions! We will not be doing math rotations during this unit, as many of the lessons just need to be done whole group. This week we will be starting with looking at fractions as equal parts. We will then work on naming fractions and learn how to represent different fractions.
In social studies we will be learning about different people that made a difference in their community. In science this week we will finally get to make our gliders and fly them.
Homework: reading log, February poem, addition & subtraction practice.
We wish Alison a happy birthday on Monday! We are excited to celebrate with you Alison!
