Report cards will come home on Tuesday in the Tuesday folders. Along with the report cards there is also a letter reviewing the changes in report cards and grading this year. There will also be a questionnaire from me with just a couple questions for you to answer and return on Wednesday so that I can try to address any questions or concerns that you have at your scheduled conference.
This is our last week of Unit 2 in reading and we will spend our time reviewing summarizing and predicting. We well also compare and contrast the two stories from our theme reader for this unit. We will end the week with a benchmark test to assess our skills from the first 2 units.
In math we are working on time this week. We will start with time to the quarter and half hour, then time to the minute, and end the week with elapsed time. Now that we have learned the strategies for multiplying each of the factors we are also going to start memorizing them. Part of this is working on our multiplication facts at home. For homework this week the kids will need to work on memorizing 6 multiplication facts, they will come home in Tuesday folders. This will go on for 6 weeks and by the time we are done with the six weeks it is our hope that the kids will have most of their multiplication facts memorized.
